FABLAB SWJTU is an innovation hub hosted by the School of Integrated Circuit Science and Engineering (School of CRRC Microelectronics) at Southwest Jiaotong University. With bases in Chengdu and Emei, Sichuan, the lab provides advanced facilities such as makerspaces, rapid prototyping equipment, mechanical manufacturing tools, and an Integrated Circuit Museum.
It offers a variety of self-developed courses, including From Code to Reality: Build What You Imagine and DIY Semiconductor Equipment, and has supported large-scale teaching projects such as From Code to Creation (108 students) and the interdisciplinary course AI and Humanity (100+ project teams). FABLAB SWJTU also served as the fabrication hub for the 2nd UIC Train Rail Hackathon Asia-Pacific Regional Competition, supporting over 200 young innovators from across the region.
While serving SWJTU students, FABLAB SWJTU is also open to global maker communities, providing a cost-effective, high-quality environment for interdisciplinary innovation and collaboration. Looking ahead, it aims to expand its outreach to K–12 schools, promoting STEM education and inspiring the next generation of innovators.
