The Fabrication Laboratory (FabLab) at the Caxias do Sul campus is a Maker Space that, together with the Pre-Incubation action, forms the Innovation Habitat at the Caxias do Sul campus. It is a versatile and collaborative space designed to foster creative activities, generate new ideas, promote entrepreneurship, and stimulate the user's creative potential. The FabLab Caxias is dedicated to enabling the development of innovative projects and the creation of businesses, with a strong focus on community engagement.
The FabLab Caxias, established in 2020, serves as a hub for diverse teaching, research, and extension projects led by staff from various areas of the Campus. Its primary goal is to strengthen our ties with the community surrounding the IFRS - Caxias do Sul Campus and local production arrangements. The FabLab Caxias was born from the collective interest of employees from different knowledge areas who recognized the need for a space to conduct multidisciplinary projects aimed at problem-solving, integrating teaching, research, and extension at all levels, and engaging the external community and local production arrangements.
