311 Hangzhou is an educational innovation and digital fabrication space in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, China. It combines maker education, project-based learning and digital technologies to support children, students, teachers and the wider community in moving from ideas to tangible projects.
The lab develops activities involving digital fabrication, 3D design and printing, electronics, IoT, artificial intelligence and interdisciplinary making. Particular attention is given to learning through design, experimentation, collaboration and responsibility: technologies are treated not simply as tools to be used, but as means through which participants can understand problems, create solutions and learn together.
311 Hangzhou also serves as a platform for teacher development, educational experimentation and collaboration with schools, universities, companies and community organisations. By joining the global Fab Lab Network, 311 Hangzhou intends to share projects and practices, collaborate with other laboratories and contribute to an international culture of open learning, making and responsible innovation.
