Fernando Meneses-Carlos was born in Mexico City in 1981. Founder & CEO of Escuela Radical
PhD in Architecture from the International University of Catalonia; PhD in Cultural Biology from the Higher School of Historical and Anthropological Sciences; Master's in Genetic Architectures from the International University of Catalonia; Master's in Advanced Architectures from the Institute of Advanced Architectures of Catalonia; Master's in Cultural Anthropology from the Higher School of Historical and Anthropological Sciences; FabAcademy Diploma “How to make (almost) anything” from the Center for Bits and Atoms at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT); Architect from the National Autonomous University of Mexico; Bachelor's in Philosophy from the Autonomous University of Chihuahua; and currently pursuing a Master's in Astronomy at UCG.
He has received awards such as the Top 100 Visionaries in Education award from the Global Forum for Education and Learning, USA 2021; National Award for Good Municipal Governance, Sustainable Cities Theme, Eco-Apertus Project, Mexico, 2020; 1st Place Xignux Award: Alternative Energy and Sustainable Construction, Monterrey, 2015; among others. Jury member in several international competitions such as MIT Technology Review's Innovators Under 35.
Throughout his professional career, he has participated in projects in Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, China, Spain, Guatemala, the Netherlands, Iran, Italy, Mexico, Norway, Venezuela, Panama, Peru, Poland, Qatar, the USA, and Taiwan. Connecting the generation of geometric, morphological, and artificial intelligence algorithms with anthropology, philosophy, and architecture, and exploring everything from the programming of bacteria, circuits, objects, buildings, territory, and city models, he created nodolab in 2009 and founded the Radical School in 2019.
