STEM Lab of Thuan Chau High School: Empowering Highland Dreams
Located in the Northern mountainous region, Thuan Chau High School proudly nurtures a vibrant student body where 90% belong to Northwestern ethnic minorities. To bridge the geographical and technological gap, the school established its international-standard STEM Education Practice Room (STEM Lab). Sponsored by the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam) under the "STEM Innovation Petrovietnam" program, this facility realizes an insightful vision for advanced education.
The lab is thoroughly divided into four specialized zones: Idea, Maker, Tech, and Collaboration. It features cutting-edge apparatus ranging from interactive smart screens and VEX IQ robotics to Industry 4.0 gear like 3D printers and laser cutters.
Moving forward, the lab’s core development focuses on "Indigenous STEM"—applying science directly to mountain life. Students utilize IoT sensors to build smart agricultural models for local coffee hills, leverage 3D printing to preserve traditional Thai and H'Mông cultural artifacts, and design environmental warning systems for remote villages. Driven by a dedicated faculty and an active Robotics Club, this lab acts as a regional hub. It proves that with equal access to technology, ethnic minority students can confidently innovate and become global citizens.
