The i2i Makerspace is a collaborative innovation laboratory at the UPV Regional Research Center (RRC) designed to bridge the gap between ideas and innovation, realizing the concept of ‘i2i’. Launched in February 2025, the makerspace operates under the supervision of the RRC Engineering Section to provide accessible digital fabrication and technical support.
The i2i Makerspace is also part of a broader network of specialized laboratories within the Regional Research Center—namely the Food Feeds Functional Laboratory, Biology Laboratory, Microbiology and Bioengineering Laboratory, Applied Chemistry Laboratory, and Material Science and Nanotechnology Laboratory, which all complement one another to support multidisciplinary research and activities.
The i2i Makerspace of the UPV Regional Research Center is envisioned to be a fully equipped innovation hub supporting MSMEs, startups, and local innovators. The facility will provide affordable, research-driven product development services. Capacity-building and training programs, including workshops on design, digital fabrication, and innovation management, will empower local industries and youth innovators.
