Gelecek Uskudar and FabLab Uskudar Project
Gelecek Uskudar Entrepreneurship Academy, which was launched under the Istanbul Development Agency's Guided Support Program, is designed to promote a culture of entrepreneurship from primary school onwards, to apply a culture of innovation, technology, and science, to present entrepreneurship as a career goal, and to reveal individuals' potential for entrepreneurship.
Gelecek Uskudar aims to develop 21st-century skills such as critical thinking, collaboration, and communication, as well as problem-solving, product, and brand creation skills for students after their formal schooling.
Gelecek Uskudar Entrepreneurship Academy is the first and only institution in Turkey that provides entrepreneurship education for primary, middle, and high school students in a single center. Additionally, the entrepreneurship curriculum created by academic experts and instructors is among the first projects prepared and implemented in Turkey.
The academy's activities include the Entrepreneurship Education Program for primary, middle, and high school students, the Makerspace and FabLab Program, where students can participate in competitions by creating prototypes, the Co-Working Office Program, which provides office space for young entrepreneurs in the start-up phase, and the Volunteer Program, where students can work as volunteers in the academy's education and FabLab activities. Gelecek Uskudar Entrepreneurship Academy is the first and only institution in Turkey that provides all of these services in a single center.
FabLab Uskudar Inventory:
Arduino, Raspberry Pi, Nvidia Jetson, Stepcraft CNC, 3D printers, digital embroidery machines, plotters, vacuum machines, powerful computers with high CPU plus RAM capacity, mini drone education kits, Lego Spike Prime education kits, and large lathes and electronic stations.
Makerspace and FabLab Program Activities:
FabLab provides students and entrepreneurs with the opportunity to prototype their ideas. FabLab has equipment such as 3D printers, sewing machines, CNC milling machines, lathes, electronic workstations, and resin printers. FabLab forms teams for national and international competitions.
Under the Gelecek Uskudar Project, the Uskudar Municipality has applied to 9 Teknofest, 3 Tübitak, and 2 Lego competitions. Additionally, the academy supports two FRC teams. Our academy supports the Nova5 Robotics team in the International Robot Olympics. Conference programs prepared by the teams are hosted by Gelecek Uskudar. The conferences have up to 600 participants.
