YOP.CREALAB was born from a multi-actor initiative led by local, French, Ivorian and international civil society in close collaboration with the City of Yopougon, associating Ministries, schools, companies, research and training centers, artists as well as other international partners.

It is supported by the Culture and Development Association (France), the Communal Youth Council (CCJY), the City of Yopougon, the Yopougon Service Platform (PFS Yop), the Youth Employment Agency (AEJ) and the Ivorian Association of Agronomic Sciences (AISA).

More than 15 partner organizations have already expressed their interest in joining the activities, YOP.Crealab being thought of as a catalyst mechanism for meetings between different knowledge and expertise for the benefit of development.

The project saw the light of day thanks to the support of the Agence Française de Développement and the City of Yopougon, the voluntary contribution of Ivorian actors such as the architectural firm Edgar, for the development phase of an architectural project and creation of a mobile truck.

Promoting the intersection of three areas and professions around digital, culture and cultural and creative industries, and the environment (including urban agriculture), YOP.CREALAB aims to facilitate the expression of local creativity, access to creation and digital knowledge, with particular attention to disadvantaged people, young people and women to:

support local innovation to meet the basic social needs of populations;
develop a spirit of initiative and enterprise;
participate in the community life of the Municipality and beyond.

The overall objective: Promote the economic, cultural and social development of working-class neighborhoods in the District of Abidjan

Specific objective 1: Promote locally innovation, empowerment and social entrepreneurship in various fields
Specific objective 2: Support and strengthen innovation and social cohesion, in particular among young people and women
Specific objective 3: Promote knowledge sharing and networking of national, regional and international initiatives
