The TIU Rover is equipped with a range of digital fabrication technologies, including 3D printers, a laser cutter/engraver, a vinyl printer/cutter, and a CNC mill, along with physical computing devices such as Raspberry Pi, micro:bit, and Arduino. These tools are mounted on wheeled carts, allowing Rover staff to transform any classroom, library, or meeting space into a dynamic fabrication lab. Visitors use open-source software to develop skills in digital design and fabrication, learning to operate the tools through engaging lessons, activities, and design challenges created in collaboration with the Carnegie Science Center in Pittsburgh.
