Turkistan city is the center of cultural and spiritual Turkic World and has a long lasting history. According to many researchers city has been established 1500 years ago and all the time of its existence has been a center of education and culture. Moreover, the city has played a vital role in the support of the "maker movement" during its history and at the very peak of its development was the center of craftsmanship in the whole Turkic World. Opening of the Farab Fablab (First Fablab in the region) is a continuation of the cities spirit and would revive its famous maker movement in the region.
The Fablab itself is located the building of Farab Library in the center of the city, very near to the Khoja Ahmed Yasawi Mausoleum, which is the main landmark of the region. The lab offers different sets of facilities starting with CNC Milling machines,CNC Laser Cutters,3D printers, Electronics, Vinyl Cutters and Assembly areas.
