The Generation of Innovation Leaders/GIL” is a program by UNICEF designed to address the high unemployment rates among youth in Lebanon & their lack of access to the knowledge economy.
As part of Gil, UNRWA Siblin Fab Lab is established to empower students, professionals, artists, techies, entrepreneurs, and makers across Siblin area and Lebanon and equip them with the latest digital manufacturing technologies and a vast array of resources to create, fabricate, and transform their ideas into working prototypes and innovative products.
The lab’s strategic location offers Siblin Training Centre (STC) and nearby university students the opportunity to develop their academic projects but also to innovate personal initiatives.
The Lab is equipped with rapid prototyping and manufacturing machines, such as a CNC machine, laser cutter, 3D printer, and vinyl cutter, in addition to electronic tools, Arduino kits, and power tools.
Siblin Fab Lab offers training sessions related to product design and digital fabrication, 2D modeling, 3D modeling, prototyping, and robotics.
GIL FabLab is an opportunity to re-establish the maker movement in Siblin and the surrounding, opening opportunities for small businesses to evolve, and enabling the startups to develop.
